Program Approach

Shuckleberries Playschool is a child-led, play-based open air program where we believe learning should be fun! Based on scientifically proven brain science we know how much children learn through play. The teachers carefully plan out materials & opportunities for hands-on exploration, discovery, and play. Using these methods we are able to nurture early math skills, develop fine motor skills, begin early writing, develop letter and word recognition, and prepare the children for higher learning settings. We place an emphasis on the process of learning over the product, appreciating the amazing learning and skills that are being built where the child is at.  We love to do fun art projects, listen to all genres of music, read great books, do messy sensory activities, and lots of cool science.

Schedule

Shuckleberries is child-led & play based, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have structure! Children thrive in a structured environment where they know what & when to expect things. Activities provided during free play time are not forced, but many children look forward to them every day. There are many opportunities for art, science & math
